Most of us want difficult seasons to end as quickly as possible. We treat trials as interruptions, problems to solve, or obstacles standing between us and the life we would rather be living.
Scripture offers a different perspective.
A Change in Perspective is a practical Bible study on trials, endurance, and the spiritual growth that takes place when believers continue walking through difficult seasons. Drawing from James 1:2–4 and a personal account of climbing Mount Monadnock in New Hampshire, the study compares the demands of a difficult mountain trail with the work God does through hardship.
The lesson does not offer shallow comfort or promise that every trial will quickly make sense. Instead, it helps participants consider what the journey itself may be producing in them.
This study explores:
why trials produce qualities that comfort cannot
what it means to let patience complete its work
why difficult paths demand our full attention
how hardship can narrow our focus to what matters most
the ways creation points toward God’s character
why God’s kingdom often works through counterintuitive truths
how the journey can become part of the reward
how a changed perspective can help us endure without denying the pain
This Bible study kit includes:
