Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

The Lonely Leader: Not Thyself Alone
As for myself, I think I’ve been more of a reluctant leader. I stepped into leadership roles not because I wanted to but because someone needed me to, and I did so without regard for what I needed. As a result, I often feel isolated, because it doesn’t seem fair to share my burdens with people who came to me to share theirs. Whether I’m a manager, husband, father, coach, advisor, or spiritual guide, people come to me for some relief, not for more weight. At times the burden feels overwhelming, and I believe most leaders know that feeling.
